Open-Air Concert Season  (May 2008)

 

Our 2008 open-air concert season began in earnest in May, with concerts in The Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds and Fakenham Racecourse.

 

Bury hosted a Tribute Band concert on Bank Holiday Saturday, followed by Salute to the Rat Pack featuring the 19-piece Peter Long Orchestra on the Sunday.

 

Meanwhile, just down the road, the Fakenham Racecourse audience enjoyed a Tribute Concert headlined by the Illegal Eagles.

 

 

 

Georgie Fame - UK Spring Tour (April 2008)

 

We are delighted to announce yet another sell-out tour for Georgie Fame.

 

The tour saw Georgie travel the length and breadth of England and Wales.  Amongst the dates were a number of new venues St Donats Castle, Trinity Theatre Tunbridge Wells and the Brindley in Runcorn - all of which enjoyed capacity audiences for the concerts.

 

Georgie's next tour is scheduled for Spring 2009 - dates/venues TBC.

 

 

 

New 'Edith Piaf' concert premiers at The Institute of Directors (February 2008)

 

With two sell-out concerts at the Institute of Directors (Pall Mall, London) - we are now delighted to be accepting dates for our new concert presentation: Edith Piaf - a celebration of a legend.

 

The show features award-winning vocalist Tina May, and will be available from July 2008, onwards.

Christmas / Spring - client and events (January 2008)

 

After a busy Christmas period, which included providing artistes for clients such as Leeds Council, The Royal Northern College of Music and pop superstar Sting - we are excited to look forward to an even busier 2008.

 

Artistes we will be working with during the spring, include: Clare Teal [picture right] Georgie Fame, Humphrey Lyttelton, Claire Martin, The Big Chris Barber Band, and The Pasadena Roof Orchestra - to name just a few.

 

 

 

Georgie Fame 2007 Winter Tour - the biggest so far (November 2007)

 

In addition to our hectic Autumn/Winter schedule - November played host to our biggest ever tour with musical legend Georgie Fame.  The tour schedule saw Georgie performing to packed venues (and rave reviews) the length and breadth of the country.

Autumn Theatre Tours (September / October 2007)

 

September and October saw our involvement in a variety of successful theatre dates, organised throughout the country.  Artistes included Chris Barber, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, John Miller & His Orchestra, Tina May, The Temperance Seven, Humphrey Lyttelton, Acker Bilk and Jacqui Dankworth - to name just a few!  For more information on the artistes and theatre tours we have available through our office, click here.

 

 

 

The HSBC Brecon Jazz Festival (August 2007)

 

We were proud to present Tina May (with special guests Tony Coe and Nikki Iles) and Roberto Pla & His Latin Jazz Orchestra at this year's Brecon Jazz Festival. 

Both performances are to be featured on forthcoming programmes on S4C and the BBC.

 

 

 

Open-Air Concert Season (June 2007)

 

Our open-air season kicked-off in earnest in June, with concerts at stately homes,  racecourses, and Parks throughout the UK. Humphrey Lyttelton & His Band go from Strength-to-Strength  (April / May 2007)

 

April and May saw yet more sell-out concerts for the wonderful Humphrey Lyttelton and his band - including performances at The Nantwich Jazz & Blues Festival and Bromsgrove Music Festival (alongside jazz vocalist Tina May).  Other high profile events included performances with Acker Bilk & His Band, at Bristol's Colston Hall and the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells.

 

 

 

High Profile Corporate/Private Events  (March 2007)

 

February and March saw our continued involvement in a range of high profile corporate functions, including the provision of a variety of artistes and entertainment at events for clothing store chain Monsoon, the BRIT Awards after-show party as well as for multi-national company Xerox.

 

 

 

Georgie Fame 2007 Tour Dates Confirmed  (February 2007)

Leeds Jazz Series  (December 2006)

 

The 17th December saw our new show "Swinging at the Cotton Club" appear at Leeds Town Hall to a delighted audience.

This is the second Jazz concert to be held at Leeds Town Hall, since moving from the West Yorkshire Playhouse, and continues our 20+ years programming the jazz series.

 

 

 

The Funking Barstewards  (December 2006)

 

The Funking Barstewards - one of the UK's most sought-after party bands - were keeping audiences happy and dance-floors filled during the Christmas party period. 

 

Their engagements included various prestigious events, including Ascot Racecourse Pavilion for one of the country's largest construction/building firms.

 

 

 

Duke Ellington Sacred Concert, Ely Cathedral  (November 2006)

 

Featuring The Echoes of Ellington Jazz Orchestra, Tina May (Soprano), Niall Hoskin (Baritone), Tobias Tak (Tap Dancer) and a 140-strong Choir - Ely Cathedral saw a performance of the rarely staged Duke Ellington's Sacred Music

 

The concert was performed to a packed Cathedral, and proved a spectacular end to the 2006 Cambridge Music Festival.

 

 

 

Georgie Fame 2006 Winter Tour  (November 2006)

 

The 15th November saw the start of Georgie Fame's 2006 UK Theatre Tour - which sees him performing to sell-out audiences across the country.

Tina May wows the Ginza International Jazz festival, Tokyo  (November 2006)

 

Sponsored by fashion label Burberry, Tina May's headline performances at the Festival were described by the organisers as 'fantastic'.

 

The festival coincided with the Japanese release of Tina's new CD recorded with legendary American pianist, Ray Bryant.

 

 

 

Humph 'n' Acker sell-out at Chichester Festival Theatre  (November 2006)

 

Humphrey Lyttelton & His Band and Acker Bilk & His Paramount Jazz Band performed to yet another sell-out concert on 3rd November in Chichester.

 

Tickets for the concert sold-out in September, with ticket sales in excess of £20,000.

 

 

 

UK Equestrian Awards - Royal Lancaster Hotel, London  (November 2006)

 

For the fourth year in succession, The John Boddy Agency were proud to provide the live entertainment at the United Kingdom Equestrian Awards, held in central London.
